Deborah Oberstein-Winters

           Deborah Oberstein-Winters came to the United States through Operation Peter Pan. She left Havana, Cuba, in 1961. She traveled through Jamaica, arrived in Miami, and then went to live with a relative in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is currently a retired teacher and resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Longboat Key, Florida.

 

          Deborah remembers her experience the most clearly of all the people I spoke with. She provided detailed information about her journey from Cuba to Jamaica, from Jamaica to Miami, and from Miami to Pittsburgh.
