Lilliam Liebhaber

Lilliam Liebhaber came to the United States through Operation Peter Pan in 1961. She was temporarily placed with one foster family when she arrived in Miami. She was later transferred to another foster family until her parents arrived in Miami two years later. Lilliam now works as an administrative assistant at Temple Menorah in Miami Beach, helping to organize events there.

Lilliam's interview was particularly fascinating because, unlike most of those who arrived in the country via the Operation, Lilliam was extremely reluctant to leave Cuba. Her parents ultimately persuaded her to do so.
