Sam Oberstein

Dr. Samuel (Sam) Oberstein came to the United States in 1961 with the help of Operation Peter Pan.  After spending many weeks in Jamaica, he finally arrived in Miami and was sent to live with a foster family in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University, Michigan State University, and New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is a retired obstetrician-gynecologist.

This interview with Dr. Oberstein resonated the most with me. Interviewing him helped me learn more about my ancestors and his personal experience establishing my family in this country.
