Eleanor Berman

Eleanor Berman, a native of Jamaica, helped to receive the children transported through Jamaica as part of Operation Peter Pan. She was a young girl at the time, and her father was a prominent leader of the Jamaican Jewish community. Eleanor and her family organized many activities for the Cuban Jewish children in Jamaica while they awaited their passage to the US.  Eleanor currently resides in Jacksonville, Florida.

Eleanor and my grandfather are close friends. She was one of the first people he met when he arrived in Jamaica
